Costadilà

The hills above Conegliano, in Italy’s north-easterly Veneto region have become the epicentre for the Prosecco gold rush. As a result, many of the vineyards there are farmed hyper-intensively - industrial pesticides, fungicides and herbicides are sprayed year-round - to guarantee yields to make the world’s favourite sparkling wine. Ernesto Cattel saw what was happening to these vineyards in his beloved home and started Costadilà to focus on making completely pure, single-parcel naturally sparkling wines (labelled according to the altitude the vineyards sit at) that would fly in the face of modern Prosecco and be utterly honest representations of the way wines from this part of the world used to taste.
