Domaine des Fauvettes
Maryse Chatelin makes simple beautiful wine. The fact that the word ‘wine’ there is left as a singular should tell you everything you need to know about this most tiny of Burgundy estates. Maryse, who worked for years in the region with her husband Alexandre Jouveaux, makes a single cuvée of Pinot Noir from a plot of vines nestled amongst sheltered woodland in Uchizy that she planted herself. It is one of the most remarkably transparent, beautifully light wines we’ve ever tasted.
