Domaine Pierre Frick
Any list of visionary natural wine making estates is incomplete without the name of Domaine Pierre Frick somewhere near the top of it. The family were one of the first in France to embrace a return to organic farming (in 1970) and turned to biodynamics as early as 1981. It is today run by Jean-Pierre Frick, the 12th generation of the family to make wine in the tiny village of Pfaffenheim in the Alsace, whose endlessly enquiring mind is pushing the winemaking to new places through explorations in to maceration and infusion with the Alsace’s wonderfully aromatic grape varieties.
