Franz Weninger

Franz Weninger is a man wholly obsessed with the winemaking heritage of his home in Austria’s far-eastern borderland region of Burgenland. His estate, which spans both sides of the border between Austria and Hungary, boasts an eclectic array of grape varieties -  from Syrah and Merlot to Furmint and Blaufrankisch - that offer a glimpse in to this area’s rich history. Today the vines are worked in accordance with biodynamic viticulture and Franz produces some of our favourite uncomplicated wines anywhere.
