Lambert Spielmann

It feels unusual to find a winemaker in the Alsace who, instead of coming from a line of vignerons stretching back to the Middle Ages, has no background in the industry. Somehow this wasn’t a barrier for Lambert as he, like most recently-established producers, continues to work for other growers while he gets to grips with his own 2 hectares of recently purchased vines around the town of Epfig - which sits equidistant between Strasbourg and Colmar. These are evocative, delicious wines from a fresh new voice in this most classic of wine regions.
