Marcel Lapierre

There are few more important names in natural winemaking than Marcel Lapierre. After taking control of his fathers estate in 1973, Marcel was one of the ‘Gang of Four’ of Beaujolais winemakers who, under the influence of chemist Jules Chauvet, spearheaded the return to winemaking and vine-growing without reliance on chemical intervention. The estate is now in the hands of Marcel’s children, Matthieu and Camille. who continue to craft the sort of elegantly age-worthy wines that put the estate at the very forefront of Morgon winemaking.
