In the Catalan language, Romanissa means 'the place where the Rosemary grows'. A blend of 90% Lledoner Pelut (the Grenache of the Catalan region) and 10% Carignan. Some of the vines are up to 130 years old, planted on a terroir of red schist soils, rich in iron. A short, 4-day maceration of whole clusters, with indigenous yeasts, then matured 10 months in demi-muid barrels

Matassa

Tom Lubbe started Domaine Matassa in 2003 after working for several years at the nearby Domaine Gauby. He farms 12 hectares of old vineyards around the village of Calce in the Roussillon. He is a curious, intelligent guy and his winemaking has really evolved over the years and nowadays his wines are a reference point for this part of France.
