As always, Le Coste’s Alea Jacta Est is the final word on the beautifully aromatic local red grape, Aleatico. This is a wine that, when given proper bottle age like this, drinks as elegantly, with as much freshness, as any 1er Cru burgundy.
Clementine Bouveron and Gianmarco Antonuzzi met in France while working for the legendary Gerard Schueller in Alsace. After years working with some of France’s top producers, they decided to move back Gianmarco’s village of Gradoli on the shores of Lake Bolsena in Lazio’s north and apply what they had learnt to the local grapes that grow on the regions lively volcanic soils. These two are responsible for some of the most original and delicious wines we have tried.
