One of the wines that first got our attention from this former sommelier now making wine in the Ardeche. A blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah aged in an old barrique for a year, from this cooler vintage this is just so refreshing, with great brightness of fruit and cherries galore, we are glad we kept some of this stashed away.
Anders Frederik Steen
Anders Frederik Steen used to be a sommelier in his native Denmark, responsible for writing some of the best wine lists in the world at places like Relae, Manfreds and Noma. A few years ago he began making a handful of one-off wines with legendary nomadic producer Jean-Marc Brignot and the rest as they say, is history. He now lives with his family in the village of Valvignères in the Ardèche, producing highly original wines from some of the region’s most beautiful vineyards.
