A killer take on Gewurztraminer from the vineyards of the Bannwarth family in Alsace. This spent two years resting in old barrels without topping up and as a result there is a nice oxidative character to the fruit, which pairs plenty of structure with a refreshing green citrus note. Compelling drinking.

Anders Frederik Steen used to be a sommelier in his native Denmark, responsible for writing some of the best wine lists in the world at places like Relae, Manfreds and Noma. A few years ago he began making a handful of one-off wines with legendary nomadic producer Jean-Marc Brignot and the rest as they say, is history. He now lives with his family in the village of Valvignères in the Ardèche, producing highly original wines from some of the region’s most beautiful vineyards.
