Burgundy-beating Pinot from two winemakers with an apparently endless affinity for this sometimes difficult variety. The most gentle of macerations (more of an infusion, if anything) of both French (left as whole bunches) and German (destemmed) clones leaves this with the finest of red fruits and structure.
Between the two of them, Alexander and Christophe of Weingut Wasenhaus have amassed some serious experience at some of the great domaines of Burgundy before returning to Germany to make wines in Baden. The influence shows in old-school, soulful wines that have marked these youngsters as future stars.
