Aligoté is the second white grape of Burgundy and extremely popular locally but not seen much outside of France. The de Moor Bourgogne Aligoté is grown in Chitry which is quite close to their winery in Courgis. If you haven’t tried Aligoté before then this is a must - a delicious, clean wine with good acidity and great minerality.

Alice et Olivier de Moor

Alice and Olivier de Moor live and work in Courgis, a small village 7km southwest of Chablis. The De Moors have worked their vines organically since 2005, a rarity in this area and no SO2 is used either at harvest nor during the vinification process. Ageing has traditionally taken place in Burgundian barrels of different ages for the Chablis wines, the Bourgogne Chitry and the old vine Aligoté, with the younger vine wines and Sauvignon aged in cement and stainless steel tanks.
