A firmer, darker blend than its sister wine Red, this is made up of 65% Mencia with 25% of Garnacha Tintorera (the rest is a blend of Tempranillo, Jerez and Merenzao - a grape more familiar to us as the Jura’s Trousseau). Despite feeling a little more brooding this still clocks in at a breezy 10.5% which means it feels light and bright but with no little complexity at its core.

Mission

After an exhaustive road trip around Spain to find somewhere to set up for himself, Zachary Elfman finally settled in Galicia’s Ribeira Sacra to start Mission. Anyone who’s been to this part of north-western Spain could understand the lure for the vinously-minded - with acre-upon-acre of old vines of indigenous grapes like Mencia, Godello, Albariño and Treixadura planted on perilously steep slopes over the river Miño. The wines he now makes are remarkably comfortable in their own skin and the ideal introduction to this thrillingly beautiful, broadly unknown, wine region
