From one of our favourite winemakers, Alice Bouvot of Domaine de l'Octavin, comes one of the best pet nats we have tried in recent times. This is part of her "negociant" project and is a direct press of Gamay from the Ardeche and Muscat from Perpignan. If the colour wasn't appetising enough, one whiff of this had us charmed and the palate is clean, salty and a little bitter. Bring on the aperitif.
Domaine de l'Octavin
Alice Bouvot is one of the most energetic and charismatic vignerons we have come across. Whether making wines from her own vineyards in the Jura or from grape’s she picks with friends across France, she is a grower that is completely in tune with nature in the vines. Likewise, her touch in the cellar is unique, producing wines with a lightness of touch that transmit a rare energy.
