With their intriguing, minimalist bottles and overall sense of mystery, the wines Gloria Garriga produces under her Els Jelipins label have become amongst the most sort after in the wine world today. This comes from old vines of Sumoll planted in the hills of Font Rubi, near Barcelona. The wines ferment and age in old oak casks and only released after several years. Gloria only produces around 2000 bottles of this wine a year and the wines possess a degree of depth, complexity and finesse that is hard to find on the Mediterranean, meaning that if you are lucky enough to find one, you are in for a treat.
