From a parcel planted with fifty year old vines over Jurassic marls near Rotalier, this is a direct press of Savagnin vinified in the Burgundian or ‘ouillé’ style and aged in old barriques for ten months. Due to bureaucracy, it is no longer possible to call this wine simply ‘Savagnin’, so it shall now be known as ‘Feel Good’. From this warmer vintage, this is a generous riff of the grape, with plenty of citrus and spice wrapped around a mineral core.
Frederic Cossard
Frederic Cossard produces perhaps our favourite wines in all of Burgundy. A larger than life character with a love of the good life, this legendary producer manages to make thrilling, vibrant Burgundies in a region where oak and sulphur can dominate without sacrificing precision, nor detail.
