Sometimes unfortunate events can make for beautiful wines that will never be repeated and this is a great example of that. In 2016 Greg Guillaume's plot of Merlot was devastated by heavy rains, frost and hail. As a result he was only able to extract very little from the grapes, making for a light, fragile and delicious wine with curious flavours of strawberries.
Gregory Guillaume
Gregory Guillaume is a humble, laid back dude who makes easygoing, delicious wines from some seriously beautiful vineyards tucked away in the hills of the Ardèche. Much like the man himself, there is no pomp or ceremony in the way he works. He farms without pesticides and herbicides and makes wines with no additions. They are fruity, simple and nourishing wines that are made for everyday drinking.
