A surprisingly fine-boned collaborative orange wine made by the Soulier brothers and our pal, wine importer Jimmy Tassan-Toffola, who together have made this idiosyncratic wine that might say it’s 100% Grenache Noir (direct-pressed) on the label (to please the bureaucrats) but has a little added Clairette Blanche and Rose for good measure.
From their home in a quiet part of the Gard, young brothers Charles and Guillaume Soulier are making a name for themselves as ones to watch in the South of France. They farm with respect and are creative winemakers, producing some seriously thoughtful wines from a heady mix of grapes and terroirs.
