Julien took control of the family business from his father in 2003 and it feels like 2006 was the year he really hit his stride. This is a wine of rich aromatics and waxy apples, pears and quince that feels like the perfect companion to a long lunch.
Alain Labet is one of the unsung heroes of Jurassic wine. As one of the area’s first winemakers to concentrate on vinifying wines from individual sites (alongside the likes of Pierre Overnoy) he set a standard that his children Julien, Charline and Romain, who he handed control of the estate to in the early 2000’s have followed and perhaps, even managed to exceed.
