A Jurassien oddity and not really wine as we know it. The juice of Savagnin grapes is boiled down to a syrup before being fortified with brandy - expect expressive notes of toffee, green apples and anise.
Alain Labet is one of the unsung heroes of Jurassic wine. As one of the area’s first winemakers to concentrate on vinifying wines from individual sites (alongside the likes of Pierre Overnoy) he set a standard that his children Julien, Charline and Romain, who he handed control of the estate to in the early 2000’s have followed and perhaps, even managed to exceed.
