A blend of 60% Grenache Gris, 40% Macabeo from a 0.5-hectare parcel of vines planted on a soil of lime, clay, and slate, surrounded by garrigue Co-maceration and fermentation for 1 month in 1000-litre Italian amphorae, with indigenous yeasts, then matured 8-months in the same amphorae.

Tom Lubbe started Domaine Matassa in 2003 after working for several years at the nearby Domaine Gauby. He farms 12 hectares of old vineyards around the village of Calce in the Roussillon. He is a curious, intelligent guy and his winemaking has really evolved over the years and nowadays his wines are a reference point for this part of France.
