A sunny vintage free of disease meant that 2005’s wines were earmarked for long ageing from the get-go so it follows that this is now a wine at the peak of its powers. There’s deeply savoury fruit here that still manages to show that hallmark lively DPR style.

Domaine Prieuré Roch
Essentially an off-shoot of perhaps the world’s most-fêted estate Domaine de La Romanée-Conti created in the late 1980’s, Prieure Roch have very much plugged their own furrow since their inception. They seek to produce wines that, whilst often experimental in character, are pure reflections of their patchwork of vineyard holdings and embody ideas from far beyond the often staid world of Burgundy winemaking. These are often confrontational, groundbreaking wines.
