The wines benefit from a soil type the Slovenian's call 'Ponca', a complex mix of sandstone, clay and marine deposits that produces powerful, mineral rich wine.ë_Unlike their classic line of wines, this blend of Chardonnay and Tocai spent just a couple of weeks on skins and eighteen months in old casks and also sees a small sulphur addition at bottling. The result is a fresher, fruitier style of wine that is more approachable and easygoing, especially in its youth.
