The combination of Sauvignon Blanc is one in which the hills of Styria are becoming increasingly famous for and this one from Franz and Christine Strohmeier is a great example of why. This spent a month on skins, before resting in old barrels for a year, leaving a wine with gorgeous aromas of stone fruits and flowers, bound by gentle tannins and a long, clean finish. A wonderfully complete effort from two of Austria's finest.
