An unusual blend of Tempranillo and Moscatel de Alejandria (also known as Zibibbo in Sicily) picked early in its ripening to keep this pét-nat at a bitingly fresh 10% ABV. There’s a wildness here that’s kept in check by Tempranillo’s red berries and the perfumed stone fruits of Moscatel.
Nuria Renom
Nuria Renom began her career in winemaking in tandem with her duties as sommelier at Barcelona’s iconic Bar Brutal, often leaving late after one of the bar’s not infrequent all night sessions to see to the tiny plots of rented vines she farms up high in Catalunya’s Garraf National Park. Today, she’s focussed fully on winemaking and supplements the small amount of fruit she grows with grapes bought from trusted growers to make miniscule runs (often under 100 bottles) of some of Spain’s most effervescently characterful natural wines.
