Pinot Noir from the hulking great tranche of volcanic rock in the south part of Baden called Kaiserstuhl. This shows the same bright, deeply energetic character we’ve come to recognise in wines from similar soils grown across Europe, making this perhaps the only wine in the Wasenhaus line-up which betrays its maker’s deep roots in Burgundy.
